Gran Trak and Me, Updates of the Track

jonathanluitjens

(Notice in advance:) (The two bridge test videos and the visual detail showing video are muted due to an unspecified (yet) problem that causes when OBS and the games are open making weird audio lag, however the animation showcase one DOES have audio since there isn't multiple car sounds going on to notice said lag.)

This post contains 4 videos, only one contains volume however, it will be specified when it comes up.

Heya once again, I come bearing yet more updates about the recent step into Gran Trak 10. And this time with video examples! First note out the door should be the added bridge having been mentioned prior, where first you move under it, then the next you drive over it.

This is the under part, upon crossing a checkpoint labelled close by, the bridge becomes partially see-through. This returns to normal when you go out the other end with another checkpoint, however just in-case, there is also one behind the first one to make it visible again if the player for some reason tried to leave and turn around. It won't get stuck transparent for going backwards instead of forwards.

A few turns later and you get to go over the bridge this time, it's a small feature, but I wanted to have a feel of depth and a nice little track cross added by going further with the checkpoint/can cross the lap system. This way it feels a little bit less like a flat track, it rises and lowers too, a little more than just a standard road.

Alongside function also comes a bit of fashion, and we all know where my strong suit sits. Of course there had to be some flair, otherwise it'd feel incomplete. This has also two videos of example, one involving the car itself while it drives, and one with the track itself.

The car itself, when fast enough and turning, will do two things alongside the screech noise. Tire skid marks, and a little cloud of dust.

(Yes this is a Moof statue, it's HIS track now.)

(This next one has audio in it)

And this one has the car idle, but it shows the whole track itself, there's a cheering animated crowd, bobbing flowers and waving grass. The track is living, moving, and watching the driver go for a record lap count.

Music is also self made again. I want to feel like I'm getting a hang of doing it, maybe, kinda?

Most of the improvements I need to do is see about touching up visuals and controls, but I think so far this is going surprisingly good.

Think of it as near complete, but pending a double check.. For now at least. But until then, I'll keep you all updated.
