Platformer Concepts - Storyboarding, an Intro and Ending Work-In-Progress

Hello for another week of progression, new Friday calls for new progress updates, of which I shall be able to provide.


A majority of this week is not entirely visual, not really coding, but something I've not exactly delved much into ways of telling, the story itself. I want to have this tell something, so on and off for a while I've been thinking about the specifics of what, and more importantly the HOW.


My first idea was, logically, the obvious one when it comes to planning these things out, the good ol fashioned Storyboarding method. I've not done too much to that before, so this is a ROUGH attempt at it, but it should be enough to work.


I've got two so far, the beginning and the ending, rough as heck, and the latter has no text so hopefully wont give away stuff I wanna do too much. BUT, this is the kinda stuff I've got going.

Is it safe to say what I'm doing is experimental at minimum? I've only got maybe half the panels so it's understandably not the entire thing.


The idea for the intro will be to both convey the events that lead to why Moof is doing what he is, and also a slight documentary styled intro explaining (a bit of) the Moofs as a species, in rough population and what they do, the VERY basics..


One day I'll write out the proper weird lore of theirs, it's funky and amusing.


The only other one is something for an ending thing right when beating the final boss, it's got no text though but it has a few more panels.

Post Final Boss clip, like how Crash Bandicoot, or Sonic 2 do. No text yet but it works. I don't want to go into much detail for it cause I'd like not to spoil too much of my plans and this might be a lot as is.


Not necessarily full animated because that'd take WAY too much effort, but theoretically I COULD do some simpler methods, maybe like how the recent MK games' endings are with pieces set for subtler motions, I dont remember the name but do know the idea, but that's only a maybe theory at most right now.


That's still a work in progress, it's actually trying to get everything together but still got a bit of a way to go, I will have to update about that as more work goes along.


However at least for now, that'll be all for me for this one, not the biggest but it works hopefully. Will update more next time.
